The mystery of …death
Last week two of my relatives had completed their journey on this earth. As the wise said "only one thing that is certain in our life, and that is death". Journey towards ones death starts the moment one is conceived in mother’s womb. Is death the end of a living being? I am of the conviction that it is not. I see death as a point where ‘It’ (that which dies) changes ‘It’s’ name and form - just like a piece of paper we burn transforms into ashes. 'Something' was existed as a piece of paper and now as ashes. Modern science agrees with my conviction: The sum total of energy remains the same, irrespective of the changes in it’s name and form.
Therefore nothing is lost forever in this universe. Everything is here. "Men of knowledge do not grieve either about the dead or the living…. All of us have ever existed in the past and shall ever exist in future too." – Bhagavad Gita
You have a really nice blog. Read some of your articles, and will definitely come back to read the others. Do you mind if I link your blog to mine?
ReplyDeleteIf I think of myself as ashes, I don't have any recollection of my life as a paper!
ReplyDeleteI don't understand how this comparison solves the mystery of death. It is true that the compounds that make up my body will most probably exist tomorrow too (unless it ends up in some nuclear reaction) But that is happening even when I am alive, molecules that were part of my body has been shed in different forms and probably has ended up as part of other beings already!
The question of death is a question about life and not about matter!

ReplyDeleteThank you for your thoughtful comments. In the post I only reiterated that I am convinced nothing is lost forever in this universe. One cannot argue that the original idea and a metaphore that used to explain the former should exactly be the same. Metaphor cannot replace the original object or idea.
